With 3D knitting technology, all our garments are totally customizable with rapid response times for individual size and pattern requests. The yarn does not run or ladder if cut, and garments can be sold with unfinished edges.

When your body temperature rises, the wool fibres in Cloudlight™ wick sweat away from your skin and move it to the garment’s surface where it evaporates and keeps you dry.

Five times thinner than an human hair and as thin as cashmere, Merino Wool is a naturally high-performance material. Merino is the oldest breed of sheep recorded in history, originating in Spain, and Merino wool is still considered the best – better even than non-natural fibres. In particular, it contains lanolin and keratin, both antimicrobial, which help to prevent odour build up over time.

Extra-Fine, Super-Fine, Ultra-Fine

Fibres are only wool if they come from sheep. So cashmere, alpaca and mohair (which come from goats and alpacas) are actually hair, not wool, and can be coarser and itchier. Some wool fibres can be 25 microns in diameter or more, but here at Giannotti, we use only the very best merino wool fibres: Extra-fine merino which is less than 19.5 microns, super-fine which is less than 18.5 microns, and Ultra-fine which is less than 15 microns.

Giannotti is always searching for unique ways to repurpose materials – and the Giannotti could light serie is (surprisingly to some) made out of half recycled coffee grounds. Part of the challenge of dealing with waste in any manufacturing industry is to begin to entirely rethink our impact over nature itself.

Less Waste, More Style

If you make coffee at home, just think about the quantity of coffee grounds you produce in a week of brewing. Now imagine a small cafe. Now imagine a large, international coffee chain. That’s a lot of waste. In fact, global coffee production is estimated to be responsible for upwards of 23 million tons of waste per year. We’re now working to make use of that waste, to repurpose it into our luxury stylish knitwear. That’s progress.
